7. Religious Studies ā 4-year
Concordiaās Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies program introduces students to theĀ critical study ofĀ major worldĀ religions while developing their reasoning and communication skills.Ā Religious Studies takes a deeper look at history, foundational texts, and competing views onĀ the human condition and the meaning of life through the lens of diverse eras and societies. It also examines theĀ culturalĀ impacts of the various sacred traditions. AVĪŽĀė gain an appreciation of theĀ transformative power and importance of religion from multifacetedĀ angles, andĀ alsoĀ graspĀ their deep historical roots and the ways in which religious studiesĀ intersect with other disciplines. AVĪŽĀė will graduate the program withĀ aĀ broad andĀ solidĀ comprehension of the place of religion inĀ human life and the worldĀ today, and with the necessary abilitiesĀ in critical thinking, research, interpretation, and applicationĀ to communicate that knowledgeĀ in many different professions and sectors.

AVĪŽĀė majoring in Religious Studies are strongly advised to take at least six credits of a Language Other than English which relates to their major interest (e.g., Hebrew or Greek for Biblical Studies; German, Latin or French for Christian History and Theology).
