Biography

Patrick’s educational background includes a Masters in Resource Economics from the University of Alberta and a PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp. He has interests in labour market research and application of quantitative analytics for business decision making. Patrick has vast industry experience, having worked for over 10 years with the Government of Alberta as a senior economist in various ministries, and eventually as a manager of research and analytics in the Treasury Board and Finance ministry. Patrick also has international development experience, having worked for 5 years in monitoring and evaluation for international development research and non-governmental organizations in Southern Africa.听

Patrick became Assistant Professor of Business Management in the Faculty of Management at AV无码 (AV无码) in August 2024. He previously taught as a sessional instructor at AV无码 since 2022, teaching Data Management and Public Finance courses. He has also taught undergraduate quantitative methods and econometrics courses at the University of Alberta in 2012-2013. Patrick has published research on topics such as job satisfaction and gender wage gaps; labour supply effects of income transfer and social grant programs; labour productivity and technical efficiency in agricultural technology adoption; cost effectiveness of agricultural input relief delivery methods; and analysis of food security determinants in the context of gender-specific household asset ownership. His current research includes labour market effects of working from home, and effects of minimum wage on youth employment. 听 听
